Organizations that have outsourced HR functions have made
several discoveries:
- More is more, when it comes to processes outsource.
The more processes moved to the vendor(s), the better the
company's experience, because it can take advantage of common
systems with fewer interfaces, better linked processes, a single
infrastructure and simplified vendor management.
- The business must be involved.
- Outsource either well-designed or disorganized processes, but not
both. Companies get maximum benefits by outsourcing straight
forward and clear processes and strategic generalist-which
improves a company’s overall results and simplifies change
during and after the switch – or disorganized processes, chaotic
systems and transactionally focused generalist, all of which could
benefits from transformation.
- Focus on helping generalists build new competencies. The study
found that "two-thirds" of the respondents agreed their
HR generalist need to develop new competencies, specifically
around strategic thinking, consultative support, project
management, business acumen and change and change
management skills
